I have had my four kids home with me all day every day for almost 6 weeks and I survived. I hate to admit that I was actually kind of excited for them to go back to school and to get Jon back to work. But here it is noon and I'm still in my "pj's" (reallly, sweats and a t-shirt) but with my running shoes on waiting for me to go down and exercise in the very cold unfinished basement. I spent probably an hour after I dropped the kids off at school fiddling with our new gps/navigation thingy. I then spent a good amount of time on the phone with my friend catching up after the holidays. Garrett has already made about 100 messes while I fiddled and talked and played. Tanner has been in front of the computer playing on hotwheels.com until I kicked him off so I could do my computer "stuff" while I ate breakfast about an hour ago. He is now playing Boom Blox on the Wii. (FUN game, by the way.)
Now what I was HOPING to accomplish somehow today was:
- finish the kids' laundry
- finish boxing up kids' clothes that are out of season/don't fit
- exercise
- get Garrett to take a LONG nap
- while I put away Christmas decorations/stuff
- make some cookies for US to eat since all the ones I made yesterday were for a baby blessing and for Savannah to take to school to share since she just had a birthday.
Wow, that's really not that long of a list, now that I see it. Then again, that is just the extra stuff, not the feed kids, clean up the spills/messes, help kids with homework, make/eat/clean up dinner, kind of stuff. The biggest factor in all of that is my littlest ruffian (and my own will). He is the busiest little guy I have ever seen. Right now he is on my bed (behind me) eating raisin bran out of the bag, which is out of the box. My guess is that he got it from the table. It probably got there from Tanner climbing the pantry shelf and pulling it out along with a couple other boxes of cereal. I really don't want to turn around and see how much bran is on my bed.
Well, I'm obviously procrasting but I shall now get my lazy rear out of the chair and get busy. Only 3 hours until I pick up my two darling children from school. =D

I am so glad that I was the "friend" you were catching up with! :) I hope you got done as much as you could. My day was the usual stuff until a pipe under the kitchen sink disconnected. When you look down your sink drain and see the light from the flashlight, that's a bad thing!
sigh. I'm still working on the Christmas post too. My strategy is to finish the 4 blogs I have in draft mode, write a current one for this week and then post them all with the dates I WOULD have posted if I wasn't trying to do to many things. :D
good luck with the fitness goals! and I feel your pain with your mischievous man. Linnea (15mo) is now able to climb on the counters and tables. ugh. good thing they're so cute!
It's good to know I'm not the only one who has days like these. :) For the record, I still haven't finished packing away Christmas. I'll give myself till Valentine's Day... (and yes, it's taken me almost all month to get back to your blog. Someday I'll be all caught up and stay that way!)
